Founder, Inclusive Gaming
CRUX Labs, University of Arkansas at Little Rock, Spring 2018–present

Guided by graduate and undergraduate student interests and concerns, founded Inclusive Gaming as a place to play and critique video games from feminist, queer, and intersectional perspectives. The group works to raise consciousness around current issues in gaming as well as our own personal connections to the games we play.

Scholar-Teacher, Eon Youth Lounge
Tucson, Arizona, December 2011–May 2013

As a teacher and action researcher, collaborated with youth at Eon Youth Lounge, a drop-in space for queer-identified youth. Worked with local social justice youth educator Sarah Gonzales to plan and run multimodal workshops designed to help Eon youth create Queer Monologues, a community performance that was successfully produced in April 2012.

Participated in a three-day retreat designed to help queer and allied youth foster leadership, mindfulness, and communication skills while building community. Helped facilitate a movement and writing workshop on the school-to-prison pipeline and queer youth.

As a teacher and action researcher, helped plan and run a weeklong day camp where youth participated in multimedia workshops and created social justice marketing videos and performances for circulation through local media.

Mentor, VOICES Community Stories Past and Present

As a community mentor, volunteered with VOICES, a non-profit, community organization where youth learn about journalism, photography, and creative writing while working toward publication in local media outlets. Worked with youth writers as they developed and published feature stories.
